The Advisory Committee (TAC) has been established to serve as a link between the Setu and private voluntary organizations (Grant Seeker) active in humanitarian assistance and development work. Comprised of a team of renowned private citizens with extensive knowledge of development, TAC helps provide the underpinning for cooperation in assistance programs. |

As stated in its charter, the Advisory Committee's role is to:
- Consult with, provide information to, and advise the Trustees of Setu and other agencies on development issues relating to assistance in which Setu and Grant Seeker interact;
- Provide information and counsel to the Grant Seeker community on issues of concern regarding their relations with Setu and other agencies; and
- Foster public interest in the field of voluntary aid and in Grant Seeker activities.
TAC meetings are held Quarterly basis and provide opportunities for information exchange and consultation between Setu and other agencies and the non governmental community.
The Committee brings together Setu and Grant Seeker's officials, representatives from universities, international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), businesses, and government, multilateral, and private organizations to foster understanding, communication, and cooperation.
The meetings focus on timely topics selected from a wide range of issues and challenges that affect the relationship between the official foreign assistance program and the private voluntary community. Following these deliberations, the TAC provides specific recommendations to the Trustees. Top ^ |

| Designation: The official designation of the Committee is: The Advisory Committee (TAC) |
Objectives: To serve as a focal point for relations between private and voluntary organizations active in the fields of relief, rehabilitation and development overseas.
To assure that the voluntary sector plays a vital and dynamic role in the formulation and execution of foreign assistance programs. |
Duties and Scope of Activity: To consult with, provide information to and advise Setu, as appropriate, on matters and issues needing attention across a wide spectrum of development issues in which private and voluntary organizations interact.
To provide information and counsel to the community of private and voluntary organizations working in relief, rehabilitation, and development on issues of concern regarding their relations .
To foster public interest in the field of voluntary aid and the activities of private and voluntary organizations. |
Reporting: The Advisory Committee reports to the trustees of Setu. The Chairman of Setu provides the necessary support for the Committee. The Advisory Committee will file Half-yearly reports with the Trustees, describing its activities during the preceding quarter, and will furnish any other data that may be required . |
Costs: The annual operating costs in INR for the Advisory Committee and Subcommittees thereof are estimated to be approximately INR 3 Lakhs for a two year term. |
Meetings: It is expected that the Advisory Committee will hold one meeting a quarter. Its Subcommittees will meet as determined by each Subcommittee chair. |
Membership: The Advisory Committee shall be comprised of no fewer than three and no more than seven members (including the Chairman and Vice Chairman) appointed by the Trustees as representatives of a balanced cross section of non-governmental entities including private and voluntary organizations, cooperatives, foundations, private firms, professional societies, universities and other sources as he/she sees fit.
Members serve in a representative, not an individual, capacity and therefore are not subject to the conflict of interest statutes.
The Trustees shall designate the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Advisory Committee.
Terms of membership shall be established by the Trustees at the time of appointment to the Advisory Committee. Members may serve for up to two years per term and may serve up to three concurrent terms during the tenure . |
| Subcommittees: The Advisory Committee may appoint Subcommittees and/or special task forces as necessary, which shall report to it. |
